the most DIVINE pineapple bun i’ve ever had. i cannot begin to describe the FLUFFY, pillowy, pull-apart-like-a-cloud texture of this, especially when it comes SO fresh out of the oven. it’s like a CUSHION. the salty and indulgent butter is PERFECT paired with the subtly sweet crumbly top. since it’s fresh, it’s so warm and the butter slowly melts to create the most satisfying and comforting experience. but seriously the texture is phenomenal and i want to come back here everyday just for this pineapple bun.

The lot is narrow, the spaces feel designed for vehicles from a more modest era, and the time limit is absurdly brief. One scarcely has enough time to order, let alone enjoy a civilised lunch without glancing at one’s watch like a fugitive. For those of us who prefer to linger over milk tea and conversation, it is distinctly inhospitable. This, without question, is the establishment’s greatest flaw. The restaurant itself, however, tells a different story. It has been around for some time and carries that unmistakable old Hong Kong cha chaan teng spirit. Not curated nostalgia, just the real thing. The servers are authentically direct, efficient, and brisk in that familiar Cantonese manner. Communication is straightforward but not impolite. There is a difference between negligence and cultural frankness, and this is very much the latter. I ordered the “mini” curry beef brisket rice, which proved to be modest in name only. The portion was generous, the curry packed rather earnestly with chunks of brisket. One appreciates that sort of honesty. The flavour was rich and properly robust, with that classic Hong Kong style thickness that sits comfortably with a bowl of rice. Not revolutionary, but deeply satisfying. A solid, traditional cha chaan teng worth visiting. Just approach the parking situation with strategy and perhaps a touch of stoicism, lest your lunch be seasoned with unnecessary anxiety.

Star of the show is the pineapple bun with butter. But they have all the HK cafe staples and do an excellent job. Try to come here during non-peak hours, otherwise be prepared for a decent wait (1 hour is not unheard of). Food: tasty, authentic, and fair portion. Service: abrupt, but I always gotten what I needed. Food arrives decently quick. But eat and get out - type of vibe. Atmosphere: don’t come for the atmosphere, come here for the food. Delicious food. Actually it’s not that bad, I don’t mind it for what it is.

This is a tea restaurant with a strong Hong Kong-style atmosphere. The taste and hospitality are indeed very Hong Kong! I like it very much!

Went there for breakfast, fortunately they run from 8am with the Hongkong style breakfast. The food was good and authentic, and I appreciate the staff went nice with us with young kids. The waiting process was a bit confused to assign us to the next door but we made it. Cash only - I hope this could change one day.

The pineapple buns with salted butter are, indeed, delicious! The egg tarts were great too, and on the slightly larger side of a typical egg tart. I can see there being potential communication issues though if you do not speak Cantonese/Chinese... And a lot of the menus are only in Chinese. As an aside, if you want to be GST exempt here, you must order in batches of 6. Eating in... It seems like the service is hit or miss for people - for us, it was fantastic and patient. The food all came hot and the staff were attentive.
